Past Derby Champions

Chad Womack has fished The Derby almost every year and finally cashed in with a 25 pound 2 oz  striper. The largest striper ever weighed in The Derby

2024 was Josh Shivers first Derby and he won the Crappie Championship with a  2 pound 3.2 oz crappie.

2nd Weslynne Ritter 10.26 pounds

Champion Briar Stover 1 pound 15.0

2nd  Ethan Knapp 1 pound 8.4 

Dr Lee Herman won his first fishing tournament by catching his personal best striper at 21 pounds 13.6 ounces

Richard Malcom won the 2023 Derby with a 2 pound 1 ounce crappie.  He weighed the fish on day one and never give up the lead!

Kenny Scott weighed in the largest striper ever caught in the Oconee Derby, a whopping 24 plus pounds. He won 4 of the 5 Overall  spots in the 2022 Derby.

Justin Savage weighed in the 2nd largest crappie ever in the Oconee Derby. His big fish weighed 2 pounds 4 plus ounces and Justin won several places in the overall  Crappie Division in 2022

Kevin Hester made history by weighing in the biggest striper ever in The Derby.(19 pounds 12.4 ounces)  It happened at the last minute, one day before the final Derby Day!

Joe Partenza caught a 2 pound 5.7 ounce crappie on Week 2 and held the rest of the field off until the end and became a Derby Champion

Kevin Harris won the 2020 Striper Division with the largest striper to ever come to the scales!  His monster fish secured him a spot forever in the history of The Derby!

Big Daddy Norris Edge put the hurting on everyone in the Crappie Division. He won First Place AND Second Place, (first time in history) AND won several big fish weeks. The King and His Throne

Justin Michael won the Striper Division with the smallest striper to ever win. Mike Haralson won the Crappie Division with the largest crappie to ever win! Still Champions

In 2018 The Derby went to 8 weeks.  Kevin Alexander won the Striper Division and Doug Cook won the Crappie Division. The first Champs to ever get The Ring!!

Jason Nelms won the 2017 Striper Division in our one day event  with a 22 plus pound sack of  stripers.  After the participation of the event we decided to move it into a derby format, instead of a one day event.  Jason was the last angler to win the one day event

John Ritter won the 2016 Striper Division in our one day event. Its a great moment because he brought his mom to fish with him.  The prize went into her purse! 

Hank Mann, Todd Waites and Byron Day won the first ever BigFishHeads Derby (one day event) in the Striper Division.
